The second beach has a lot of rocks in the water :( otherwise its an amazing island and an unforgettable experience. The first restaurants rice and fish is delicious.

Periodically, the conservator of the Maison des Esclaves makes a teaching speech on slavery at the main stairs. Brilliant lesson even though it's only in french. Ask for the hours at the ticket booth.
